A copyright is the legal ownership of an original work.

Copyright infringement is the violation of copyright laws. Any original work belongs to the creator. If you claim someone else’s work as your own, you are committing copyright infringement. Don’t do that.

- What if someone on TempoTrader claims my music as theirs?

TempoTrader is not responsible for copyright infringement by its users. When a user agrees to our terms of use, they agree that they will not commit copyright infringment. If someone takes credit for your content, see "TempoTrader Copyright Policy" in our terms of use for some actionable steps you can take.

There are a variety of ways to get your work copyrighted! The truth is, your work is automatically protected by copyright law as soon as you make it. The problem is that if someone else claims it as theirs, you have to be able to prove that you are the creator in court. We suggest taking a look here: http://www.copyright.gov/forms/

- Does TempoTrader claim any rights to my music?
